Tarangire National Park in Tanzania

 

Tarangire national park derived its name from the Tarangire river which crosses through the park and its worth visiting , one can see the Tanzania wildlife.  By Road the trip from Arusha to Tarangire National Park is approximately 140 kilometers long and takes about two to three hours.



Tarangire meaning "river of Warthogs" .The park is full of  Baobab trees. these trees are among few floras that decorates the Tarangire national park. They have a very unique history in the world. They are said to be living up to one thousand (1000) years. these are one of very attractive features in the area.




the safari to this park is a good choice for travelers as see more animal in their natural habitue also the park is known as a wonderful birding destination and also features large numbers of game drive, particularly during the dry season, when the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the area.the current total population of lions in this park is  about 250 . The Tarangire lions can be seen found around the park almost any time of the day.

The park is the home of the largest and wonderful elephants' (African elephants) population in northern Tanzania of 2500 approximately, whereas this number is rapidly increasing with an estimated rate of 6% per year.

the animal found in this park are elephant in abundant,Giraffe,Hippo,Buffalo ,Zebra,Wildebeest but white Rhino are not seen in this park .
