A quick review of ITSA in Arusha ,Tanzania

The 2024 International Tourism Summit was held in Arusha, Tanzania from May 20th to May 25 2024. The International tourism summit Africa ,brought together tourism industry leaders, government officials, and environmental organizations to discuss the future of sustainable tourism, particularly in Africa.The participants from 48 countries. The travel & tours operator had a B2B meeting where special packages were shared for future business.

There were renowned international speakers and the event were  hosted by Lorraine Simpson, TV travel journalist and host from Canadian television.

Key topics discussed included:

*Ecotourism and conservation: Strategies for promoting ecotourism models that protect natural habitats and support local communities.

*Infrastructure development: Improving transportation, lodging, and other tourism infrastructure in a way that minimizes environmental impact.

*Marketing sustainable tourism: Effective messaging and branding to attract Eco-conscious travelers.

Public-private partnerships: Coordinating between governments, NGOs, and private companies to develop sustainable tourism policies and initiatives.

Many attendees highlighted the immense potential for growth in Africa's tourism sector but stressed the importance of doing so in an environmentally responsible manner. Calls were made for increased investment and government support for community-based ecotourism projects.
